New E-Class Brings 50,000 Orders to Mercedes
Finally, there's a little bit of good news for a change for an automaker. Mercedes-Benz has already received approximately 50,000 orders for its new 2010 E-Class, the company announced today. The sedan arrives in European showrooms on May 9 and marks a return to the Mercedes core as "a solid, safe, comfortable, conservative car in which you can invest utter faith," Paul Horrell wrote in our First Drive.
Sales chief Klaus Maier claimed dramatic sales improvements in a statement, "In Germany, bookings for an E-Class saloon more than doubled in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous year."
